Wantzy Cooper

Dr. Wantzy Cooper was born and grew up in Taiwan. She is a graduate of the University of California, Irvine, and obtained her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Western University. She completed her internship at Peninsula Hospital and General Surgical Residency training at St. Barnabas Hospital in New York. She received her Cardiothoracic Vascular Fellowship at Deborah Hospital, Heart and Lung Center, Vascular Fellowship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and Endovascular Fellowship at Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine.

After Dr. Cooper passed her General Surgical written and oral board examinations, she not only concentrated on vascular surgery but also expanded her knowledge of wound care, which was a continuation of her general surgical residency training.

In 2013, Dr. Cooper worked not only as a vascular surgeon but also as a wound care attending at the Wound Clinic and Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber in Valley View Medical Center in Arizona. Furthermore, she obtained her Certified Wound Specialist Physician Board Certification.

Based on an understanding of Osteopathic Medicine of body unity, Dr. Cooper has combined all her training in wound healing with the interrelationship of structure and function and nutrition.

Since the COVID epidemic, Dr. Cooper has worked as an ER and Admitting attending and as a PCP in the underserved area of Needles, California.

Now, Dr. Cooper is proud to be part of the Professional Wound Specialists team, where she is determined to strive for the best care for patients and achieve the goal of bringing healing opportunities to all patients with wounds and those needing minor surgeries in various communities.

We provide wound care treatments in hospitals, surgical centers, rehabilitation facilities, long term acute care, skilled nursing facilities, and home health services. We provide wound care doctors at home, which allows convenience for homebound patients who need high quality service. PWS serves in the greater area of California, Colorado, Idaho, New Mexico, Nevada, Utah, and Wyoming.
