Monica Summers
Monica Summers PA-C began her medical career as a paramedic before graduating from the Stanford Physician Assistant Program in 1999. With over 17 years of experience in the emergency department and more than a decade as a part-owner of an urgent care clinic, she has built a career defined by hands-on care, clinical excellence, and entrepreneurial leadership.
Most recently, she has transitioned from treating acute wounds to focusing on chronic wound care—a shift she describes as both challenging and deeply rewarding. Her passion for patient-centered healing continues to grow as she explores this complex and evolving field.
When she’s not working, you’ll find her outdoors—surfing, playing volleyball or pickleball, biking, hiking, or spending time with family and friends. She also values time spent nurturing her faith and growing in her relationship with God, which she considers an essential part of her personal and professional life.

Professional Wound Specialists (PWS) provides high quality evidence based medical care to our patients. We provide wound care treatments in hospitals, surgical centers, rehabilitation facilities, long term acute care, skilled nursing facilities, and home health services. We provide wound care doctors at home, which allows convenience for homebound patients who need high quality service. PWS serves in the greater area of California, Colorado, Idaho, New Mexico, Nevada, Utah, and Wyoming.
