Caren Erekson
Caren Erekson grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah. She started her nursing career Mountainland Applied Technology College where she earned her LPN. Soon after she attended Weber State University where she earned her Bachelors of Science in Nursing Practice.
Caren began her journey in healthcare as a medical assistant and has worked in many different areas of healthcare such as family practice, internal medicine, pain management and ENT. As a LPN/RN she has worked in home health, acute care rehabilitation, and behavioral health. She found a passion for wound care while serving patients in their homes working alongside many other wound care specialists as a nurse. Caren finished her Doctor of Nursing Practice with a vision of working as a wound care specialist and family nurse practitioner.
Caren has had the opportunity to work in the clinic, hospital and community for the past 15 years in many roles of leadership, employee education, training, development of protocols and policies, as well as serving as a patient advocate in every aspect of her care.
In her down time Caren enjoys spending time with her family in the great outdoors fishing, off roading, camping, boating and whatever else the mountains have to offer!
Caren is excited to continue her passion of wound care as she serves patients in the community.

Professional Wound Specialists (PWS) provides high quality evidence based medical care to our patients. We provide wound care treatments in hospitals, surgical centers, rehabilitation facilities, long term acute care, skilled nursing facilities, and home health services. We provide wound care doctors at home, which allows convenience for homebound patients who need high quality service. PWS serves in the greater area of California, Colorado, Idaho, New Mexico, Nevada, Utah, and Wyoming.
