Joe Silverstein was born and raised in Southern California and became a Licensed Mobile Intensive Care Paramedic in 1990 working for ten years in the busiest areas of Los Angeles County on a rescue ambulance. In 2002 he graduate as both a Physician Assistant and Family Nurse Practitioner from the Stanford School of Medicine. He holds double board certifications in Emergency Medicine and Psychiatry with additional specialization in addiction medicine, psyhcopharmacology and Wound Care. In addition he is a Certified Substance Abuse Practitioner. He currently has his own medical practice serving the geriatric community for both medical and geropsyhchiatric needs. He brings to our group over 20 years of ER, intensive care, procedural hospital medicine, surgical urgent care, skilled nursing care and home visits. In addition Joe is also an experienced educator. He holds a full time clear teaching credential in healthcare from UCSD, and he was Academic and Clinical Faculty at the Stanford PCAP program for over 10 years where he functioned as both a lecturer and preceptor. He has been American Heart Association training center faculty for over 30 years as an Advanced Life Support instructor for adult, pediatric and neonatal emergency care as well as a college and municipal level EMT, Paramedic and Nursing instructor.
